Here, nfsv3-0.5.2 over stock 2.2.5 kernel; client is a Miata/516 MHz (Alpha machine), server is Ultra5/333 with Solaris 7 (the Sun low-end these days). 100baseT link.
Read performance is above 7 MB/s Write performance is above 5 MB/s
NFSv3 is definetely better than NFSv2.
