SubjectA bug between kernel and hdparm
Date
From
Hi,

There is a bug between kernel and hdparm. hdparm can change the setting
on an IDE device. For example,

# hdparm -d1 -X 18 /dev/hda

will change the DMA mode on /dev/hda. However, the change is not
updated in the kernel data structure for hda. As the result,

# hdparm -i /dev/hda
# hdparm -d1 -X 18 /dev/hda
# hdparm -i /dev/hda

will not show the DMA mode change on /dev/hda.
