I get the "/dev/lp0: Device not configured" error when trying to acces my printer when the lp and parport are built as modules, but everything works fine when their built in the kernel. Also, lsmod tells me that both parport and lp are loaded. (Config: PPro 180 / 64MB / RH 5.2) I also had that problem with pre4, but not the 2.0 series.
