Hello,
I have 2 Intel EtherExpress 16 NICs in my i386 box. With the 2.2 kernels i get a constant stream of errors from eth0, but not eth1. This did not happen with the 2.0 kernels and I never got around to trying the 2.1 kernels. The error is: eth0: tx interrupt but no status
Additional Info: The errors increase in frequency with increased traffic on that interface. The interface seems to function ok. No errors are reported on eth1 which is the other EtherExpress. I am using the ip masq and firewall features of the kernel.
From what I can gather this is a result of the NIC giving us a "Two for One" deal on interrupts (issuing two interrupts when only one is appropriate). Is this correct ? Is there a fix ? or Did I likely screw it up someplace ?
The new kernels are great ! Thanks and Keep on truckin' !
Shane
