Subjecthow do i get started??

I'm very interested in learning how to do some linux kernel
development. I do know C, but I know very little about the guts of
the kernel, and I want to learn. Does anyone out there have some
advice on how to get started? I see the kernel as an overwelming mass
of code, and I don't know if just starting with reading the code is
the way to go.

Thoughts?

If you took all the students that felt asleep in class and laid them end to
end, they'd be a lot more comfortable.
