Info: The TCP Stall is back in version 2.1.87. I don't know in which version it actually came back, but I just downloaded the kernel so I could upgrade one of my machines at home. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10443268 Feb 17 13:16 linux-2.1.87.tar.gz This took 4 hours and 40 minutes on my 28.8, sometimes 56kb, link. <whew...>
There were many minutes in which nothing was transmitted. I could ping freely during that time so connectivity was okay during the stalls.
Cheers, Dick Johnson ***** FILE SYSTEM MODIFIED ***** Penguin : Linux version 2.1.87 on an i586 machine (66.15 BogoMips). Warning : It's hard to remain at the trailing edge of technology.
