You could always give eMusic for a spin, which supports all the same stuff
x11amp does (ie skins) and you have GPL'd source.

In general, it uses less CPU, and is more flexible (you've got the source,
after all ;). It not only plays MP3s but also WAVs, AUs, MODs, and CDs...

Also uses the Enlightened Sound Daemon.
