Hi,
for many releases I have problems getting my AWE32 PNP to work (2.1.1xx - 2.1.133pre1). It works under 2.0 with OSS drivers and under Windows 95/98/NT (everything with the same same settings). I initialize the card with isapnp:
# ANSI string -->Creative SB AWE32 PnP<-- (CONFIGURE CTL0043/80381 (LD 1 # ANSI string -->Audio<-- (INT 0 (IRQ 5 (MODE +E))) (DMA 0 (CHANNEL 1)) (DMA 1 (CHANNEL 5)) (IO 0 (BASE 0x0220)) (IO 1 (BASE 0x0330)) (IO 2 (BASE 0x0388)) (ACT Y) ))
and got
SB 4.13 detected OK (220) sb: Interrupt test on IRQ5 failed - Probable IRQ conflict AWE32: not detected
But there is no IRQ conflict! I tried the same with IRQ 7, but it also doesn't work. Here are some of my settings:

It seems that the sb support in newer kernels is broken.
