Subject132 pre-4: Strange slowdown compared to 132-pre2
Something strange is going on with the speed of graphics display
operations in 2.1.132-pre4, compared to pre-2 (never did try pre-3,
I'm afraid).

The result is that all graphics display updates are much slower than
normal. I can see the color of the root window change from X' default
grey pattern to my selected blue - the entire update takes about 1
second when running pre-4, but happens instantly with pre-2. Same
effect can be seen when opening e.g. an xterm using a white background
color.

System specifics: PII/350, Intel 440BX-based motherboard (Aopen
AX6BC), uni-processor and kernel compiled as such, 128 MB RAM, Matrox
G200 AGP graphics card, NCR 875-based SCSI controller. I'm running the
XiGraphics (Accelerated X) X server in 1024x768x24 bit. System is
mostly Red Hat 5.2.
