I used to get the warning messages regarding RPC/NFS mounting shown at the end of this msg in the 2.1.8x or so series for the x86 arch, but that's been gone for about a month on that arch. It seems to be still present on the alpha arch. There's a few other warnings too. Why am I getting two ethernet devices? Is frame buffer support mean anything under alpha arch? I can't get it to do anything special with my trident card.
When running "make xconfig" using this kernel the X bnffer seemed to get a bit corrupted, and then after building a fresh kernel under this kernel and then attempting to "shutdown -r now", the kernel crashed... I didn't write down the trackback, but I'll do it next time. This is the first 2.1.x kernel I've gotten to work at all though. Thanks all... Although I only started trying a few kernels ago...
Thanks, Rick Niles.
