On one machine with onboard 7880 I'm getting errors with 2.1.x but on another 2.1.x works ok. The error occurs during booting: scsi : aborting command due to timeout I get one error for each device. Adding 'noapic' works around the problem. The machine that has the problem does get 'Warning: Multiple IO-APICs not yet supported' when booted without 'noapic'.
Question 1: do other people having aic7xxx problems like this also get the Multiple IO-APICs warning, and does adding 'noapic' solve their problem?
Question 3: could somone who knows the io apic code clue me in to what the issues are with supporting multiple apics ? should this work as is or is there a bug here?
please e-mail me (hassey@gte.net), I'll summarize and post/e-mail any info.
john.
