Here's the problem with IDE_SCSI and MULTI_LUN which I've only managed to workaround, not fix.
Regardless of how many CDs it thought it had found, the kernel shouldn't have oopsed and died.
This oops only seems to occur when the ATAPI CD in use is an HP 8100. Other ATAPI CDs just get detected 8 times. Only the HP 8100 seems to cause the oops.
