Hi All!
Since a while I am getting this kind of messages in the syslog, each time the kernel is rebooted:
Sep 16 21:59:09 ukyou kernel: Loaded 4057 symbols from /System.map. Sep 16 21:59:09 ukyou kernel: Symbols match kernel version 2.1.55. Sep 16 21:59:09 ukyou kernel: Error seeking in /dev/kmem Sep 16 21:59:09 ukyou kernel: Error adding kernel module table entry.
This is the directory entry for /dev/kmem:
crw-rw---- 1 root kmem 1, 2 May 27 21:49 /dev/kmem
I am using a Debian 1.3 system upgraded to libc6, in a 486 DX2/66 with 8 Mb of RAM. I don't remember seeing it mentioned anywhere... Anyway, it seems harmless as the computer runs (altough one of the cron.daily scripts hangs the userspace programs, not the kernel; but I haven't done much investigation about this).
Bye & Good Luck!
Pablo B.
