Pentium 90, 64m ram, PCI Kernel 2.0.20 compiled as ELF GCC 2.7.2, libc 5.3.12 PPP 2.2.0f No modules
At the time of the panic, there were 25 ppp channels open. I don't think it's flakey hardware. This machine runs for 15+ days on 1.2.13 and ppp 2.1.2 without panics, yet on 2.0.20 this panic came up within the first 4 hours uptime.
