*sigh* after disabling transparent proxy and getting a good zImage, lookit:

elfie:~# modprobe nfs
sock_sendmsg undefined
sock_recvmsg undefined
Loading failed! The module symbols (from linux-2.1.15) don't match your
linux-2.1.15

(in other words: i'm having the same prollem.. libc-5.4.13)
