Hi Paul.

While I continue to try to wrap my head around how I think we should
support DBI here are some panel specific comments.

drm_panel has backlight support.

Just calling drm_panel_of_backlight() after init should do the trick.
All other references to backlight can be dropped, including this
variable in struct nv3052c.

There is one delay loop you may need to keep.
Will comment on it below.
