I couldn't trigger the bug any longer after merging for-linus branch
of sound.git tree:
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound.git

But I thought it got fixed by sticks=1 in the above. Maybe it's a
combination, as it contains yet another timer fix by Vegard.

The pull request will be sent in this week for 4.8-rc5.
