Fill in the new device_caps field of struct video_device instead. Once done
you can drop these two lines as the core will fill them in for you.

Drop this line. The v4l2 core will this in for you. You can probably drop fmt->name
as well.

Since this is a codec you will need to pass the colorspace-related format
fields from the video output format to the video capture format.

I have added tests to v4l2-compliance to check for that. See also the
vim2m reference driver and this vim2m patch:

Can't you use the v4l2_m2m_ioctl_* helpers here? See v4l2-mem2mem.h.

This is almost certainly wrong. Unless I am mistaken you support cropping of
the memory buffer for video output, and composing into a memory buffer for video
capture. That's the standard behavior for codecs.

The code above reports both composing and cropping for both capture and output,
and that's not right. Same in s_selection.

and here?

Otherwise the dma-contig code won't know the right struct device pointer to
use for the DMA.

I'm a bit surprised that this works, actually.

Can you use the v4l2-mem2mem helpers for mmap and poll?
