Hi,
some cross-toolchains change the pkg-config search pathes to do some package-config setups for cross compiling. The init of the toolchain manipulates PKG_CONFIG_SYSROOT_DIR and PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variables. A pkg-config call from kconfig searches now on the wrong place to find the ncurses and relevant packages and gives back the wrong values for the ncurses installation and this break the [x,g,menu]config.
Yann, please include this patch to your maintainer repository.
V2: no changes to v1 [1], only "RFC" removed
