I tried w/o DEBUG_OBJECTS and DEBUG_MUTEXES and disabled some
unnecessary debug-options, too (see attached diff).

This is what I get now...

[ TEST-CASE ]

Looks like this is now 10x faster: ~2.66Mloops (debug) VS.
~26.60Mloops (no-debug).
