Thanks. To be clear, you did have the patchset applied on top of this?
If so, then I wonder if we just hit a race...

freezer_do_not_count() just sets PF_FREEZER_SKIP. It's possible though
that the freezer has already tried to put the task to sleep just before
that flag is set. If so, then the schedule() will run and the task
won't go to sleep.

I suppose we could do a try_to_freeze() prior to going to sleep. I'll
add that in for the coming respin...
