You need kzalloc to allocate field.
With kmalloc, field will point to random filled memory
after a fresh allocation.

Imagine this path:

if (!field->name)
goto err;
...
err:
kfree(field->name) <- field->name = NULL, correct
kfree(field->type) <- field->type = ?
