Yeah, that was Ted's suggestion, and it makes sense.

No, from reading through the driver it seems that any machine that lacks ACPI BIOS support for PCIe slots will suffer from the exact same problems.
That's a large class of machines, not just my tiny little individual one here (of which *millions* have been manufactured and sold).
