SubjectReboot problem
Date
From
Hello everybody,

I noticed a weird thing while running 2.4.27 on Sony VAIO PCG-K15
laptop with ALI M5229 IDE controller. If native ALI driver
(CONFIG_BLK_DEV_ALI15X3) is enabled, machine reboots nicely. However, if
it is disabled, and only generic IDE driver is used, reboot hangs inside
machine_restart() if /dev/hda1 has ever been mounted during the session.
Any clue? Logs for both cases are attached.

Thanks,
Aleks.
