Well fine, you can't magically fix mistakes in documentation. You'd also I think find the law took the same view.

You know I regularly hear people talking about the "spirit of the license", but that goes in both directions. From discussions my own impression is that in this case they may or may not have forgotten to put it in the manual but they've done their best to be compliant and they have no desire not to be compliant.
