SubjectSMP instability in 2.4.21-pre3-ac4, oops provided
I'm seeing instability in my new system, a dual Intel P3/1400 tualatin
system. memcheck86 runs multiple passes just fine (to be expected, it's
registered ecc ddr memory), and if I boot a non-smp kernel I'm not able
to bring the box down. What does bring the box down after some time
(15-240 minutes) is something with the disks. If I untar a big file, or
do a backup-rsync with another server, it will sometimes oops.

I've been lucky enough to catch one (and another one right behind it).
Most often, the system just hangs hard and I have to reach for the
reset-button.
Searching google for 'oops kmem_cache_alloc_batch' doesn't really give
any hints.

Some hints as to how to solve this instability would be appreciated.
