Damn. Yeah, you're right. There's no good way to do this without
removing the entry from the parent upon unregister (which is what my
tree-in-progress does, BTW). I should have just stuck with the global
rwsem that I put in in devfs-patch-v190.

OK, as a quick fix for this problem, I've gone back to the rwsem.
Patch appended. This will have to do until my rewrite is finished
(RSN:-).
