I got the following build error of aic7xxx drivers, with
kernel 2.4.6-pre8:

make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux/drivers/scsi'
make -C aic7xxx

/usr/i486-linux/bin/ld: cannot open -ldb: No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[5]: *** [aicasm] Error 1

The gcc I'm using is:

----------------------------------------------------------------------

gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)

Here goes the relevant part of config:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
[...]

CONFIG_AIC7XXX_CMDS_PER_DEVICE=253
CONFIG_AIC7XXX_RESET_DELAY_MS=15000

Cheers,
