[Trying to do this by-the-book ;)]
I run a K6-II on a PCChips M560 mb with Redhat 7.2. Recently downloaded 2.4.15 and applied Al Viro's inode.c patch, configured, compiled... and although the kernel will boot fine, it will crash when init starts with "Mounting proc filesystem". init will continue to run, but as soon as it has to remount root, it fails as /proc/partitions is not available(obviously, /proc fails to mount), thus sending me to single user mode. Any attempts to mount filesystems(to save dmesg) leads to a system freeze. Of course, I had to copy the Oops output by hand *ugh*, slight possibility of error.
