I'm affraid no. Which module should be responsible for VGA/PCI-PCI bridge/ PCI-ISA bridge/IDE and all other features compiled into kernel ? I mean updating the data not at boot time (when it is not always necessary, but later).
Probably it would be also an alternative solution for modules.pcimap.
