Ok. The bios hadnt set it up very happily

That one I know about. Its harmless.

If ALSA works I am suprised the OSS driver does not. The OSS driver is built directly from the ALSA driver since that is about the best documentation on the entire affair.
Is IRQ 9 shared on your board ?
