There are people working on drivers for a few models that I'm aware of. All of the efforts I'm aware of are being done internal to various vendors.

Most (all?) DSL modems are actually ATM cards, so the best way to support them (in 2.4) is to create an ATM driver for them. ATM development has its own list, see: http://icawww1.epfl.ch/linux-atm/
