Adding explicit config info (sb=0x220,5,1,7 adlib=0x300) to loadlin command line brought my old (no PnP here) sb-16 back just fine. It was convenient having the config info compiled in, but I suppose it's more correct this way because the same info can be obtained without using kernel bytes.
