You are welcome to do that.
It is just the BI-directional gatewaying we are opposing for well observed reasons... (People are doing bidirectional gateways regardless of our opposition -- "we are good, we won't do it wrong", but when things irregardless do go wrong, we have to do some drastic measures to cut the loops.)
