SubjectRe: On ide-scsi recorder failure
Have you tried using the dev=0,0,0 instead of the dev=/dev/xxxx form?  I'm
told by the cdrecord maintainer that it's more reliable that way, and that
the /dev/xxxx format should not be used.

What does cdrecord -scanbus show?
