I'm sure that your machine's memory map is NOT
4 GB from 0...0xFFFFFFFF and 2 GB from 0x100000000...0x17FFFFFFF.
More likely the reverse: where are the PCI cards' areas?
Look at the e820 map in the boot log, mark those areas
as write-back and tell me what happens.
