Then Linux only needs to implement SIGDANGER, which has been talked about for years...
X would be a good candidate to implement a handler for it. Others are Emacs, Mozilla or JVMs - basically everything which has a GC of some sort. It could even be used to implement a configurable user mode OOM killer.
