I should have mentioned that the lm_sensors package
(http://www2.lm-sensors.nu/~lm78/index.html) has expanded I2C support.
I believe Petr Vandrovec used this I2C interface in matroxfb, a while
ago. (though this code got pulled b/c it's not in the kernel)
