    That seems ok for when the daemon dies. Daemons do die from time to
    time unfortunately.

    What about: we should not remain on hook for more than X hundred
    milliseconds if over-current is sensed. Not especially difficult to
    handle, but important? User-space scheduling is not _that_ reliable
    especially under load.
