oh..i'll try mounting with smbclient and see what happens.

on the NT side, the log file is changed every second or every other second. on the smbfs side it varies..sometimes it'll update the filesize everytime I ls, sometimes it won't update it for 10 minutes or more..no connection break, I/O error or anything during that time period either.
