Everything you add pushes back the release time for the next stable release.
So to help a few people using that feature you delay stuff all benefit from.

The suspend patch is also not going to make 2.4. Its as simple, useful to
more people and the same applies. I'm just going to make sure its polished
and ready for 2.5
