Your patch set the IS_VORTEX flags. It's almost certainly *not* a old Vortex core (3c590), but is more likely a Tornado (3c905C) core or Cyclone (3c905) core.
I'll check with 3Com to see what the PCI Device ID 0x2900 is based on.
