Subjectneed multiple e2fsck runs
last night I got another ext2 fs corruption with 2.2.10 which showed up
in syslog first with many

Jul 8 03:33:16 turtle kernel: EXT2-fs error (device sd(8,7)): ext2_new_block: Free blocks count corrupted for block group 87

messages, and

Jul 8 11:20:04 turtle kernel: EXT2-fs warning: mounting fs with errors, running e2fsck is recommended
Jul 8 11:20:05 turtle kernel: EXT2-fs error (device sd(8,7)): ext2_check_blocks_bitmap: Wrong free blocks count for group 87, stored = 65535, counted = 0
Jul 8 11:20:07 turtle kernel: EXT2-fs error (device sd(8,7)): ext2_check_blocks_bitmap: Wrong free blocks count in super block, stored = 217245, counted = 217246

when unmount/remounting.

when trying to clean up those errors with e2fsck it took 5 (five!)
runs of e2fsck before all those `bitmap errors' are gone.
here is the full log of all e2fsck runs:
