SubjectCPU Usage in 2.2.8
Hello,

Something in the transition from 2.2.7 and 2.2.8 caused a significant
problem here in terms of a couple of processes going nuts. The problem
continues into 2.2.9. Basically, any process that executes takes up an
inordinate amount of CPU time.

All the kernels are built the same. Stock kernel source +
raid0145-19990421-2.2.6 patch. The system is RH 6.0 + updated raidtools to
19990421 release. The system involved is a Dual Xeon III 500MHz 2048k cache,
512M of RAM, dual Seagate Metalist pro drives on a SuperMicro S2DGU motherboard
(Intel GX chipset).

Any hints?

Mike was here...
