Sort of old news - the binary only sb live driver is out. The graphics stuff was strange at the time and still is. There is a full direct render (SGI style) 3D graphics subsystem in the works for Linux funded by people like Red Hat and SGI. There are Mesa GLX based 3D projects with working open source code for the Matrox G200 and co
