SubjectOops with 2.2.9-ac6 and aic7xxx-5.1.17 running knfsd

I have a system with 2.2.9-ac6 and a more or less hand applied
aic7xxx-5.1.17 patch. When I start knfsd (with the knfsd-1.4 utils). I
get an oops looking like this:

kernel: Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000008
kernel: current->tss.cr3 = 00101000, `r3 = 00101000

This seems to happen with the first incoming nfs request. A strange
thing is that it worked for several days, then it stopped working all of
a sudden. Now it happens every time I start knfsd.

After the oops all nfsd processes end up in device wait.
