Wrong. The compiler checks rules. Lint checks *good programming practice*, specifically for constructs which *might* indicate logical (as opposed to syntactic) errors.
Find yourself a copy of THE C PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE and learn what the rules are before you make even more of a fool of yourself.
