Hello,
I got ALSA today so I get it run on a linux box : compiled, installed and when I try to use /dev/dsp I get: /dev/dsp: Operation not supported by device or /dev/sndstat the same.
Here is the result of ver_linux: [root@atlas /root]# . /usr/src/linux/scripts/ver_linux -- Versions installed: (if some fields are empty or looks -- unusual then possibly you have very old versions) Linux atlas.lbi.ro 2.2.7 #2 Tue May 4 22:12:31 EEST 1999 i586 unknown Kernel modules 2.1.121 Gnu C 2.7.2.3 Binutils 2.9.1.0.15 Linux C Library 0.7.so Dynamic linker ldd (GNU libc) 2.0.7 Linux C++ Library 2.8.0 Procps 1.2.9 Mount 2.8a Net-tools 1.46 Kbd 0.96 Sh-utils 1.16 Modules Loaded snd-opl3sa isapnp snd-seq-midi snd-seq snd-cs4231 snd-pcm1 snd-mixer snd-mpu401-uart snd-midi snd-opl3 snd-timer snd-pcm snd-synth snd
Any help would be much appreciated :)
