FWIW: this pre-release does not even link on SPARC because somebody forgot to implement all those new locking functions used by the networking layer... A quick check through the asm-<arch> directories reveals that they are also missing for ALPHA, ARM, M68K, MIPS and PPC. Or to put it the other way round: they are only implemented for I386 and SPARC64...
