SubjectKernel 2.2.8 Crash
Today (5/18/1999) I experienced a crash on a 2.2.8 kernel.
On the screen was the line:
kmem_alloc: Bad slab magic (corrupt) (name=size-2048)
several times.
I was unable to telnet or ping the system, and the console was
unresponsive. I was unable to change virtual terminals.
Pertenint parts of /var/log/messages are attached.

Natuarally, this appears to be related to Linux's VMM. I suppose it could
be a hardware problem, but I've had no difficulties until now.

here is the output from uname -a:
Linux macc.ml.org 2.2.8 #11 Thu May 13 10:52:34 PDT 1999 i486 unknown

the output from the ver_linux script and /proc/cpuinfo are attached.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
